Courtney A. Roach started her musical flute studies at age 7 at the Brooklyn College Preparatory Center and in additional to numerous recitals, has performed at several local community functions under the direction of Dr. Valerie Holmes.
Courtney was also selected to participate at the Suzuki National Flute Convention in Minnesota and the Boston Heritage Contest in 2011 while in High School.
During the summers of 2008 and 2009 she attended The Lake Luzerne Music Center Camp. In addition to playing the flute, Courtney also enjoys playing the piano.
Courtney has just completed her second year’s studies at Trinity College, Hartford, Connecticut, where she is a member of the chamber music ensemble. Courtney is also an active member within her college’s multicultural community. She is the Vice President of Trinity College Black Women’s Organization: a group that aims to educate, unite, and empower women of color not only on the campus but in the greater community. She is also an Intern for the Multicultural Recruitment Team in Admissions and a P.R.I.D.E. Leader (Promoting Respect for Inclusive Diversity in Education), an organization that trains upperclassman to educate Freshman on issues of diversity as well as create and maintain a welcoming community for all.
